Internet
To be honest, counting how much sites there are was a pain in the butt. So for now, I’ll guess that the list contained at least more than 100 sites? But I know for sure, there are more sites out there than there are in the list. Some of the sites I’ve heard of are simply the ones I’ve used. Other than that, I don’t use any other social networking websites. I don’t want to be caught in a crossfire between a pedophile. But other than that, the sites I use is:
- Facebook
- Tumblr
- SB Nation
- & occasionally Myspace.
My friend tried to get me into Friendster in which I created one, but I haven’t signed in since the day I created it. Surely, Facebook has helped me today in contacting with my friends just in case if I needed to talk to them about something. Especially when I actually don’t have a cell-phone at all, the social website is crucial to me. I know there’s always the house phone, but sometimes privacy needs to be kept. For example, when I would let my friends know to play basketball, instead of calling them one by one, I would send a mass message to all the people. I think that’s pretty useful in the case of saving time.
One website that caught my eye was “MyLOL,” but I read the description & it was for dating purposes for teens? So that pretty much killed the purpose of the title of that website. Instead I found Netlog.com. The social website is famous in Europe, the Arab world, & some parts of Canadian provinces. To the frequent users, to them it is not called Netlog. It is formerly known as “Facebox” or “Redbox.” The site was founded in July of 2003 by Lorenz Bogaert and Toon Coppen. To this day, approximately 56 million users has joined in netlog. On netlog, there is not a lot of differences compared to Myspace. I guess Netlog is just another Myspace but more of a European vibe to it.
